Last year I published a post re Fifth Credit Reporting Agencies.
The new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has released a list of “some” of Consumer Reporting Companies, i.e., companies that collect information and provide reports to help companies decide whether to provide credit, auto or property insurance, employment, check screening/check history, alternative credit, and rental history.
In other words besides the big three credit reporting agencies, and agencies that track and provide alternative credit reports, there are reporting agencies that provide specialize information. You can obtain a copy of these reports, which can be free under certain circumstances, or a reasonable fee (the current maximum is $11.50).
Check out http://files.consumerfinance.gov/f/201207_cfpb_list_consumer-reporting-agencies.pdf for a copy of the CFPB report.
