Hey, got to cross examine my own client at 341a Meeting of Creditors.
Frequently a client may not know exactly what the trustee is asking, or trying to get at. As the client’s bankruptcy attorney, I should have an idea what the trustee wants to know.
In this particular case, the trustee asked my client a question, and you could tell from the look on his face he didn’t understand the question. The attorney for the debtor is not allowed to answer questions for his client.
So, in this case I asked the trustee if I could asked my client some questions. I broke the trustee’s question down to 4 separate questions which my client understood, and answered.
The trustee was satisfied with the answer, and had no further questions.
