Continuing Education – Becoming a Bankruptcy Specialist- Saturday April 29, 2011
I attended a two hour class today on how to become a Bankruptcy Specialist, it must be hard if it takes two hours to explain on how to become one.
Some of the basic requirements:
- 1) Have you practice bankruptcy for the past five years? Yep
- 2) Have you filed more than 100 Chapter 7, 13, 11’s and motions? Yep, I filed closed to 500 bankruptcies.
- 3) Do you have 3 attorneys that will recommend you? Hope so.
- 4) Do you have a judge that will recommend you: Nope, I will have to meet a judge.
- 5) Have you passed the required test? Nope, they give the test every two years. The next test will be October 2011, then the next test will be October 2012. While it might be possible to prepare for the test October 2011, I just don’t have the time to “cram” for the test.
